Booking Contract Terms & Conditions

When you submit a booking via our online reservation system you will receive an automatically generated booking summary by email to the email address you provide in the booking form which forms a contract between us.

RESERVATIONS & CANCELLATIONS

Individual bookings

The reservation is only confirmed when full payment has been received. The booking contract is between the guest and The Forge. Full payment is required at the time of booking.

If you wish to move the dates of your stay this can be done with no additional cost, subject to availability.

If you wish to cancel your booking the following timeline will apply:

  • More than 6 weeks’ notice – 100% refund
  • 4-6 weeks’ notice – 75% refund
  • 2-4 weeks’ notice – 50% refund
  • Less than 2 weeks’ notice – no refund

Full site bookings

Full site booking refers to all five bell tents and Drewyn, our communal cabin. It may or may not include Bluebell Corner.

On booking we will take a 25% non-refundable deposit and will require full payment 6 week before arrival.

If you wish to move the dates of your stay this can be done with no additional cost, subject to availability.

If you wish to cancel your booking the following timeline will apply:

  • More than 6 weeks’ notice – we retain the 25% deposit
  • 4-6 weeks’ notice – 50% of the total amount is payable
  • 2-4 weeks’ notice – 75% of the total amount is payable
  • Less than 2 weeks’ notice – 100% of the total amount is payable

Christmas, New Year and Easter bookings must be paid in full at time of booking and are non-refundable. Subject to availability, changes to the length of reservation can be made up to 48 hours before the day of your arrival (no changes can be made after this time).

All cancellations must be made in writing via email and/or phone call to info@theforgecorwen.co.uk and 01490 412972.

We strongly advise that guests take out a travel insurance policy which covers booking cancellations. This is available at very affordable rates and gives you the peace of mind that you will get your money back if you need to cancel your holiday.

CANCELLATION BY THE PROPERTY OWNER

The property owner will endeavour to make sure the stated property is available for the dates contracted. In the unlikely event the property becomes not available and the property owner has to cancel the booking, the property owner will endeavour to find the guest suitable alternative accommodation. If suitable alternative accommodation cannot be found, the guest shall be entitled to a full refund. The property owner shall only be liable to return the monies received. No compensation or consequential losses shall be paid.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

Guests are welcome to check in from 4:00pm. If you will be arriving earlier than this and would like to offload your luggage so you can explore, please let us know and we will make arrangements for safe storage.

In order that the property can be thoroughly cleaned and prepared for the next arrival, departure time is 10:00am.

OCCUPANCY

The number of persons occupying the property must not exceed the maximum number stated on the booking. If it is found that more people than agreed are using the property this will be considered a breach of contract and the guest and their party will be asked to leave immediately without any refund.

CARE OF PROPERTY

Guests are asked to leave the property clean and tidy. Accidents happen, we ask that any breakages or damage (accidental or otherwise) should be reported to Jamie or Sheena Corry. Failure to do this may result in you being charged for any breakages or damage. Any missing inventory from the property on your departure may also be charged for.

DOGS

Dogs are welcome in all our tents and Bluebell Corner. We do ask that they are house trained, kept under proper control and not allowed on the beds. They must not be left unattended in the tents or cabins unless crated and unlikely to cause a noise disturbance. Dog hairs are to be removed from carpets and all dog waste collected and disposed of. Dog owners will be held responsible for any damage caused to the property, contents or site by their dog and for any extra cleaning required. When out walking around the field and the hill fort you must ensure that dogs are kept under close control. They must not be allowed to disturb livestock, deer or game birds.

FIREWORKS

Fireworks are not permitted.

SMOKING

Smoking is not permitted in any of the bell tents, cabins, gypsy caravan or communal spaces. You may smoke outside provided you are not disturbing other guests and dispose of cigarette butts safely.

LIABILITY

The Forge will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to guests’ personal property vehicles etc. whilst staying at The Forge.

NOISE

There are a number of tents and shared spaces at The Forge so we expect all guests to be respectful of other guests at all times.

CHILDREN

Guests must accept responsibility for the safety of their children at all times whilst staying at The Forge. All children (a person under 16 years of age) must be accompanied by an adult and must be supervised by an adult at all times. You must take particular care when children are around animals, fire, equipment and water. Although tempting, we do not permit children (or adults!) to climb the trees which are part of our re-wilding project.

TRAVEL COTS & HIGHCHAIRS

We have a limited number of these that we can provide for your use, please try to request these at the time of booking to avoid disappointment. We provide a sheet, pillow and pillow case for the cots, but not duvets or sleeping bags.

CARE OF THE PROPERTY

You are responsible for the property and are expected to take all reasonable care of its fittings and effects, in or on the property. You must leave them in the same state of repair and in the same clean and tidy condition at the end of the stay as at the beginning. You must not use the properties for any dangerous, offensive, noxious, noisy, immoral or illegal activities or carry out any act that may be a nuisance or annoyance to the owner or other neighbouring properties.

DAMAGES & BREAKAGES

You are legally bound to reimburse us for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs on demand (although we will not charge for the odd glass or plate).

MOBILE PHONES

We have a good 4G signal at The Forge but no Wi-Fi. We encourage our guests to ‘digitally detox’ while they are staying with us but do provide solar powered mobile phone chargers in all tents and Bluebell Corner.

OPEN FIRE & WOOD BURNERS

All our tents and Bluebell Corner are supplied with logs (additional bags can be purchased for £6 during your stay) along with a starter supply of kindling and firelighters.

COMPLAINTS

Every endeavour is made to ensure your stay with us is memorable for all the right reasons. However, we do recognise that from time to time things do go wrong. In these circumstances it is the responsibility of the guest to make any such problems known to the property owner or their representative immediately it becomes apparent thereby giving the property owner the opportunity to correct the situation. Unless this procedure is followed, no subsequent claim will be entertained.

The property owner will make every endeavour to rectify any identified problems as soon as is reasonably possible.

CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND THE CONTROL OF THE OWNER (FORCE MAJEURE)

If for any reason we have to cancel your booking in advance due to circumstances beyond our control for example fire, flood, exceptional weather conditions, epidemics, destruction/damage to the property (“force majeure”) you will be refunded the full amount of the booking. If we have to terminate your holiday early for the above reasons you will be refunded part of the booking fee based on the time remaining of the booking. This will be the full extent of the liability of the Owners. No additional compensation, expenses or costs will be payable.
