Bushcraft Adventure
For people who are keen to channel their inner Bear Grylls and experience the freedom and power of learning basic survival skills. This day is a fun way to connect with colleagues and challenge yourself to learn outside of your comfort zone.
Our bushcraft day is a wonderful opportunity to escape from the confines of the office and tap into your primeval memory, rekindling skills that our ancestors would have thrived upon many generations ago. Perfectly balancing risk and excitement, this day will help you to become more confident, mindful and connected with the world around you.
Overview
Immerse yourself in the great outdoors for the day to learn a whole range of skills designed to help you survive in the wild. You'll get to use knives safely, light fires, bake bread, throw axes and learn some basic foraging and wild food preparation techniques.
Itinerary
- 9am - Arrival tea and coffee
- 9.30am - Knife skills to create your own wooden tools
- 10.30am - Simple knots and shelter building
- 11.30am - Fire lighting techniques, including fire by friction
- 12.30pm - Make and cook delicious bannock bread over the fire
- 1pm - 2pm - Enjoy your campfire cooked lunch
- 2-3pm - Foraging walk and plant ID
- 3-4pm - Axe throwing competition
- 4-5pm - Campfire snacks, tea and coffee then depart

We have lots of free parking or we are very happy to pick you up if you are travelling by public transport. Our nearest stations are Wrexham General and Chirk.

This day is suitable for people of all ability levels and we can cater for those with mobility and other disabilities.
We held a Team Building event at The Forge. The facilities were beautiful and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Audio and video equipment were available, as was tea and coffee. We were lucky with beautiful weather, and made the most of the stunning setting. In the afternoon we had a bushcraft setting, run by Adam and Jamie. They were knowledgeable and approachable and made the session relaxing, fun and informative. We would whole heartedly recommend The Forge to anyone looking for a different, professional and beautiful setting for an event.
