got a question?

How many beds are there in each bell tent?

There is a double and two single beds tents in each tent, and we can fold up any beds you are not using into sofas to give you more space. You also have the option of adding a single inflatable mattress with bedding and linen at no extra cost to sleep a maximum of five people. We also have travel cots available if you need them.

Is the accommodation heated?

Yes, there is a log burner in each of the tents and the gypsy caravan and we supply a basket of logs, kindling and firelighters to get you started. We also supply bags of logs if you need any extra at just £6 a bag.

Do you provide toilet paper?

Yes, our composting toilets all come with an ample supply of recycled toilet paper which can be composted too!

Is there somewhere I can charge my phone?

Yes, we supply solar powered battery packs which you can use to charge your phone. You just need to bring your regular USB cable.

What about sockets for hair dryers?

We are a fully off-grid site which means there are no electric sockets for hair dryers or other appliances. Sorry!

Can I charge my electric car?

Yes, we are lucky enough to be just five minutes away from the Rhug Estate Shop which has eight ultra-rapid 120kW InstaVolt chargers.

How far away are you from the beach and the Snowdonia National Park?

We are blessed with some of the most beautiful beaches in the world here in North Wales. In under an hour you can be in Conwy, Colwyn Bay or Llandudno, all traditional seaside resorts. Or just a little further is the stunning coastline of Harlech, the Llyn Peninsula and Ynys Mon | Anglesey. We are just 20 minutes from the National Park with great access to Llyn Tegid | Bala Lake and the Snowdonia mountain range.

Do you provide regular camping for tents, caravans and campervans?

No, I'm afraid we are not set up for camping, although if you are booking the whole site we can accommodate campervans and your own tents upon request. We don't have any hook ups.

Can I bring my dogs?

Yes of course, we love having dogs to stay at The Forge! We just ask that you keep them under close control and clean up after them so everyone gets to enjoy our space.

What happens if the weather is wet?

We have undercover kitchen areas for all the tents, plus a large communal cabin with a log burner, sofas and bean bags where you are welcome to hang out if the weather isn't great.

Do you have hot tubs?

No, as we are off-grid site and focused on trying to be as sustainable as possible we don't have hot tubs on site. We can recommend several local spas which provide them, or we can also highly recommend the River Dee if you are looking for some exhilaration and relaxation!

Everything you need to escape...

Our luxury bell tent, gypsy caravan and cabin accommodation have been thoughtfully designed to ensure you have a true back-to-nature experience but with all the modern comforts to make your stay with us extra special.

Our tents are carpeted and have plenty of blankets and cushions to make it super cosy. We are very child friendly and can provide travel cots and highchairs on request. Each tent is situated on its own wooden deck with a well-appointed camp kitchen and its own composting toilet.

Outside, you have your own fire pit where you can sizzle your own bacon and toast marshmallows. We provide a bag of logs to get you started and Jamie is also on hand if you'd like to learn a bit more about campfire cooking. There is a large undercover games cabin, known as 'Drewyn', with a table tennis table and comfy leather sofas for chilling out in. Or you can take a wander up the hill to the fire circle on our own Iron Age hill fort, which is the perfect place to enjoy a sun-downer or gaze up at the stars.

BUSHCRAFT COURSES

The Forge is also home to the Wild Bushcraft Company and we offer all our glampers 15% off half and full day bushcraft and hunting weapons courses. Once you have booked in we'll send you over a promotional code. Simple!

What a place. Had an amazing stay. The tents are very luxurious with everything you could possibly need for the stay. Very nice touches and details by the owners - they have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. Very warm welcome from Sheena the owner who is very nice and easy going. Very very impressed by this place, the pics don’t do it justice - great facilities, great owners and every possible comfort included (and more) for an off grid getaway - plus we got the weather :) Will definitely be staying again. Cannot recommend it enough.

Scott, August 2020

Just back from an incredible few days glamping at the Forge. From start to finish Jamie was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble and he was always on hand for any queries. The accommodation literally has everything you could possibly need and they have really thought of everything when designing the layout. The log burner inside the tent was a great addition and kept us warm all night. This was the kids first experience of camping and they literally didn't want to leave. We had a brilliant time and will definitely be back!

Kate D, August 2021

I would like to thank you, Jamie and the team very much for our stay at the Forge over the last couple of days. Everything was just great, with all our needs catered for, very comfortable and well equipped. We really enjoyed ourselves. It was a lovely chance to 'recharge the batteries' and have the chance to spend time together chatting without all the usual day to day activities and chores. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to cook outside and sit out. We hope to visit again next year!
