The summer holidays are here!

We have got an action packed six weeks planned for all our guests this summer. Check out our programme of FREE activities and come and get involved during your stay.

During the school summer holidays, check in and out days fall on a Monday and Friday so we've designed a programme of events that means everyone can get a taster of everything whether they are staying for three or four nights.

FIRE LIGHTING
Mondays & Fridays - 4.30pm

We'll be showing you how to get to grips with your campfires... without using matches! You'll find out how to collect wood and tinder to make the perfect fire and then how to add the magic sparks to get it going. If you're successful you get rewarded with lots of marshmallows to toast!

WILD PLANT WALK
Tuesdays & Saturdays - 10am

On our Wild Plant Walk you'll get to learn all about all the different species of plants and trees that grow at The Forge and all their amazing special powers. Some of them you can even eat!

BREAD MAKING
Tuesdays & Saturdays - 3pm

Be prepared to get very messy for this one! We'll show you how to make bannock or twist bread over the fire, using only your hands.... Once they are cooked you can experiment with different fillings. Nutella is our personal favourite!

FREE DAY
Wednesday

A day off for our Forge team but you are very welcome to explore our Iron Age hill fort or get stuck into one of our retro board games in the cabin. We also find that a good book and a hammock is a great way to while away a few hours!

AXE THROWING
Thursdays & Sundays - 10am

This one is bound to get your competitive juices flowing! We'll be hosting an axe throwing contest which is suitable for the whole family. A perfect way to round off your stay at The Forge.
